This choppy animation problem has been keeping bothering me since I upgraded from Lion several months ago. However, I don’t want to apply the classic Windows remedy, i.e. to reinstall everything from scratch, as I love my 4 years old Mac OS X very much.
I did some research in Google and found the following weird solution:
- Repair disk permission using Disk Utility
- Restart Mac OS X
- Launch AutoCAD 2013 (you can get a trial version from here)
- Close AutoCAD 2013
- Fixed
Hope these steps can help with your headache too. After I had fixed it, I also used the following commands to speed up the Mission Control animation:
1 2 3 |
defaults write com.apple.dock expose-animation-duration -float 0.15 defaults write com.apple.dock workspaces-edge-delay -float 0.15 killall Dock |
that weird solution works for me, thanks dude..
works for me too, thank you:)
You are a genius. Its a weird solution, but it works perfectly.
I think AutoCad maybe changes some system variables when it closes.
Because I remember forcing close Autocad and the problem started.
Thanks a lot
Amazing!
I was afraid of using autocad in my iMac.
Every time that i closed it, these choppy animations would begin, and the only “solution” for this was to format my HD.
Thanks to you, I won’t be formatting it this time!
Thank you very much!!
Worked Perfectly!
I would never guess a solution like that!
Thanks!
Thanks a lot. My problem started by Force-Closing Autocad.
In the past, the problem would appear every time I opened Autocad, and disappear by closing it. And this time The force-close did not allow ACad to fix whatever it used to fix when closing regularly. Anyways, thanks a million.
Oh my… It works! Thank you so much!
Works for me. Thanks.
Omg, it really helps, wtf. Uninstalled autocad.
It works, and I have no idea why.
thank you man very much you are the best
its work with me like magic
i was about crying since i just bought my mac three days ago
again thank you very much
BEST WEIRD SOLUTION. i tried so many other things, and for some odd reason this works. thank you sooooo much!!!!
The best solution yet!
Thanks!
Shit…cant believe this solved…Thanks
WORKS VERY WELL!!!
Thank you very much! This thing helped me!
You saved my life! Thank you so much!! Pretty weird solution but it works :3
You save my life. I use 10.9.1 and autocad, and i must to use AppleCare and It aslo working. Now, with your tutorial, i fixed it. Thank you!
How the hell did that work!! Updated to 10.9.2 and everything went laggy as hell, now its a good as new! Thanks!
wow…I cannot believe that worked. Thought for sure this was some BS, but I gave it a shot and not smooth animations!! Interesting thing is that the animations are also faster from my experience.
Curious though…if future Mac OS updates cause the same problem, how do we fix without buying a copy of autoCAD, since the free trial would have expired?
i’ve been dealing with this for over a year now and all i had to do was install, open, and close autocad? wow. it works, thank you.
amazing! works for me too! thank you! weird!
Awesome! Was just waiting for Mavericks to get released and planning to reinstall everything from scratch to fix this lagging issue, but this solved it for me!
Thanks!
holy crap! It worked! I just spent all night trying to fix this problem. Thanks!
Worked perfectly! How does this work?!?!??!?!?!??
